throughout her lifetime. Collection is particularly rich in its documentation of the ancestries of both Ursula and Woodbridge
Bingham, and of the couple's various travels to the Orient during the mid-20th Century. Also contains many portraits of the
Binghams, as well as other photographs documenting their childhood and school years, their children and their descendants,
relations including the Louis Comfort Tiffany family, and various family residences.

Ursula Griswold Bingham, born June 28, 1908 in Greenwich, Connecticut, was a descendent of three governors of Connecticut.
In 1928 she married Woodbridge Bingham. In 1930 the couple settled in Berkeley, California, where Woodbridge would obtain
his Ph. D. from the University of California and eventually become a professor of Far Eastern History. Ursula accompanied
Woodbridge on a number of trips to the Far East and Middle East, living with her husband in China and Japan in the years preceding
World War II. The couple had 4 daughters. Mrs. Bingham served on the National Board of the Young Women's Christian Association
(YWCA) for two decades and for 35 years as a trustee for the Pacific School of Religion. Ursula Griswold Bingham died May
11, 1998.
